In our consultation we discuss the quilting design and thread colour for your quilt. I am more than happy to give you guidance, and I can show you quilted samples and pictures of my work to help you make a choice.

You will need to choose if you want an allover quilting design, or custom quilted to your individual specifications. Which option you choose will depend on the design and style of your quilt, the effect you want to achieve, and your budget.

Allover designs cover the entire quilt in a repeating pattern. As I specialise in freehand allover designs, these can easily be worked around appliqué or other embellishments.

Custom quilting is where individual quilting elements are used to compliment or detail the quilt. Some examples are ditch stitching, feathered borders, small meandering, and individual block designs.

Bring to the consultation your quilt top, backing and batting as three separate pieces.

My consultation days are Tuesday and Thursday and I go into the early evening on these days to accommodate my customers who work.

At each consultation I record the quilting plan we decided on, and I'll give you a written quote.

There is no obligation with the consultation. You are welcome to go away and think about it before deciding whether you wish to proceed with the quilting.

If you decide to proceed, your quilt is stored safely in an individual plastic tub until it is quilted. The quilts in my care are kept in a smoke free, and pet free environment.
